The Speidi Saga Continues

It’s a real life version of the flower pedal game we used to play as kids, are they together or are they not? This game could seemingly go on forever when talking about Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

We all know that this rollercoaster of a relationship began on “The Hills” and has been in the public eye ever since. We just can’t get away from ‘Speidi.’

It was greatly publicized this summer that the couple was separated and had filed for divorce.  That’s not dramatic enough though, because according to the 'Today Show' the divorce would become finalized on Valentine’s Day in 2011.

But fear not my friends, Montag and Pratt are back together once again. Apparently they found a new flower to pick from.

Montag called off the divorce last month and is already back to talking about how happy she and Pratt are together, according to People magazine. They were even in Las Vegas together to celebrate Halloween. How precious!

I can only hope that this doesn’t lead to a new storm of Speidi publicity stunts, as they have a long list of acts in the past.

There were first their many feuds with friends and family while on “The Hills.” Pratt went through a stage of not speaking to his own sister and throwing a fit if they were in the same place, and even yelled at Montag’s mother on a couple of occasions.

Montag tried to launch a music career, the album was ironically called “Superficial,” but no one would take her on and produce it. They then made a big deal about producing the album themselves and of Pratt filming the music video of Montag prancing on the beach.

Perhaps the biggest scandal so far has been Montag’s plastic surgery insanity. Just last November she underwent 10 procedures at once, all at the ripe old age of 23. Afterwards she talked about how she was finally the “real” her.

Neither of these people have done anything beneficial for society, so why we keep paying attention to them and playing into their publicity stunts is a mystery to me. I hope that their games are over now that they are back together, but that’s on the off chance that they have a legitimate relationship and are actually trying to make it work.

Otherwise I hope the media can shut them out and we can all live in a Speidi free world.

  1. I realize I don't have much expertise on this issue, for much of my knowledge of this horrific couple comes from watching episodes of The Hills, but man I really dislike these guys. I try not to judge them too harshly because I understand that reality television likes to push for certain scenarios to occur and to make some of the characters out as the bad guys, but I think we've seen enough of their ridiculous ways in the media by now. I was personally shocked when Heidi had all of that surgery done. She was a very beautiful girl before, but now just looks silly and insecure. I thought she had at least comes to her senses when she dumped the guy, but I guess has fallen back into whatever spell Spencer on her. Oh well. But I agree, let's stop giving this couple attention!

  2. I agree completely. This is not a healthy relationship, and there are always young viewers out there who will be influenced by this ridiculous excuse for a relationship. Young girls are already bombarded with images of unrealistic body types, and to watch the show over the years and see a character go to such extremes to change herself can have a big impact on the teenagers in society. I, too, hope that the media will get bored with their circular story so that we don't have to see Speidi's drama all over the magazine covers.

  3. I agree with what you said about how neither of these people have done anything beneficial for society. I have been an avid fan of Laguna Beach and The Hills since the shows began and I feel like I've seen this couple go from normal to absolutely insane over the years. I can't believe that their whole divorce was just to get money because The Hills was cancelled and they had spent all of their earnings from the show. I heard that they are now trying to convince MTV to give them their own reality show? Hopefully this never happens and these people go away for good.
